Biography

Marita Hakala was born in a small city on the West Coast of Finland, Europe. She began her career as a fashion model at the age of 17. Soon after, she moved to the fashion capital Milan, Italy. Marita traveled extensively as a professional high fashion model to cities like New York, Paris, London, Munich, and Barcelona, with Milan being her primary work city. She modeled for various renowned brands, including Bluemarine, Etro, Leocrema, Benetton, Loreal, Germaine de Capuccini, Fila, Virgin Airlines, and Daewoo, among others. Her work included runway and print modeling, as well as appearances in TV commercials and magazine ads. In 2004, returning to her roots in Finland, she wrote a script for a TV show called "Mallikoulu" ("Model School"), drawing on her experiences as a fashion model and adept new-face model's scout. In addition to working on the production side of the show, she served as a TV judge and mentor for the contestants. She also appeared as a TV host for another model show called "Model in One Day." Her contributions to the fashion modeling industry are recognized through various magazine interviews and her involvement in many fashion-related events and shows. She has also appeared in the casting process on numerous occasions. Marita Hakala currently resides in Los Angeles.
