Biography

Robert Jolley is an award-winning Cinematographer. He has been the Director of Photography for several multi-season television series on Discovery Channel, ABC Television, The Travel Channel, Nat Geo Channel and online streaming platforms Disney+, Hulu and Discovery+. Robert's work also includes feature and short-film scripted projects, commercial spots, documentary films, online marketing and infomercial/direct response advertising.

Always striving to improve upon his technique and artistry, Robert has completed a Master Class in Lighting and Cinematography sponsored by the American Society of Cinematography (ASC). Instructors included Academy Award & Emmy Award Winning Directors of Photography Dean Cundy, ASC, Lawrence Sher, ASC, Larry Fong, ASC and David Mullen, ASC. Robert has also completed courses sponsored by industry leaders: Panavision, Arriflex, Nikon and the Power of Lighting by Director of Photography Bill Holshevnikoff. Robert is a member of the International Cinematographers Guild, IATSE Local 600.

Robert has been a featured guest on several industry podcasts including Filmmaking Friends hosted by film director Ryan Little and Burnie's Applebox hosted by film and television gaffer Craig "Burnie" Burns. Over the years, Robert has volunteered his time at various industry events including the Sundance Film Institute Filmmakers Lab in Utah and the Jackson Hole International Wildlife and Natural History Documentary Film Festival in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

His work as a cinematographer has taken him to every state in the U.S. and over 20+ countries around the world. When a project wraps, you can find Robert living the quiet life and enjoying nature with his wife Lisa and their 3 dogs Mina, Sully and Kai Kai, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
