Rita's debut feature film, Bliss! a rites-of-passage adventure, had its World Premiere at Edinburgh International Film Festival.
She directed, wrote and produced experimental short films: The Truce, Too Much Love and Room To Let. Her Screen South part funded short, The Curry Club, stars Cleo Sylvestre MBE, Ruth Sheen and Olivier Award Winner Kenneth Cranham CBE. All her films have screened at international film festivals. Rita has directed 2 theatre productions, and produced Award-Winning animation for Turner Broadcasting Europe for 7 years. Her first short, Threesome, screened in the Calling Card Program at Telluride Film Festival and sold to Sky Movies and Canal +.
Rita served as Jury Chair for the 75th, 76th & 77th BAFTA British Short Film Awards, and was the first black person to do so.
