Biography

Growing up was the favorite player of Kevin Durant.

His first dunk was in the sixth grade.

Daughter Kai Michelle Carter was born in June 2005.

The cousin of NBA Star Tracy McGrady.

His brother-in-law was NBA player Antawn Jamison.

I just enjoy playing and having a good time. Of course, people love to see the dunks and I'm just crazy enough to try the things they want to see.

When asked if he pushed himself as hard as he should have in Toronto: "In years past, no. I was fortunate to have the talent... you get spoiled when you're able to do a lot of things. You see that you don't have to work at it."

[on Stephen Curry] I just remember coming out and getting my workout in before the game, once I finished my workout, I'm telling Steph to come on. We used to play one-on-one before each game. Now, all of a sudden in the NBA, we play against him. To see him win the MVP, to see him win a championship, I'm just like, man, this is the same kid that I used to play one-on-one against. He had it all then. His mindset is that, 'Hey, this time I'm gonna beat you.

There was nothing like being in Toronto and playing there. We know it's hockey first...but we were like rock stars. It became the thing to do. I look at it like this: playing those six years felt like being in college. Because this was it. Particularly when Vancouver goes away, moves to Memphis, this is it. It felt like college. I say yes, because...you have fans wherever you go, and I felt a lot of love everywhere. But you go to Jersey, people are moving from other places to be there. When you live in Canada, that's it. There was nothing better. I will say that.

[on his first game back in Toronto after being traded] I don't think any player has ever been booed like that night. It was painful because of the misconception and what everybody's perceiving the situation to be, knowing that was so far off. I step on that court and all of that starts to play in my mind and boom and every time I touch the ball, 'boo you suck.'
