Biography

Min Yao was born on November 13, 1917 in Shanghai, China. Min was a composer and producer, known for Les Belles (1961), Crazy Rich Asians (2018) and In the Mood for Love (2000). Min died on March 30, 1967 in Hong Kong.

A protégé of Japanese composer Ryôichi Hattori prewar Shanghai-era entertainment and film industry.

Brother of singer Lee Yao.

Formed a singing trio in the 1930s with his sisters Li Yao and Ying Yao.
