  • Philip Di Fiore is an award winning filmmaker. His first film, Stranger: Bernie Worrell on Earth, is about the otherworldly keyboard/synth genius of Parliament Funkadelic and Talking Heads. The film features David Byrne, Mos Def, George Clinton and Bootsy Collins. It premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival and won best film awards across the U.S. and Europe. Stranger was screened theatrically in art house theaters across the world and received a special screening at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

    His second film, The Buffalo Hunt, is a narrative style documentary set on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. The Buffalo Hunt won Best Feature Length Documentary at The Prague Film Festival, The Award of Excellence at The Canada International Film Festival and Best Cinematography at the Nice International Film Festival.

    Di Fiore has directed music videos and various web series. HIs music videos for Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Sinkane, Caveman and others have been described as thrilling, cinematic and beyond the cutting edge and have drawn comparisons to the work of Martin Scorsese, David Lynch, Alfred Hitchcock and Rod Serling. He has made films and videos for vanguard record labels DFA, Daptone, Fat Possum, Atlantic and Island Records. His works have premiered at theaters, festivals and museums around the world and on Vevo, Pitchfork, Noisey, The Fader, IFC, Stereogum, Rolling Stone, Funny or Die, VH1, MTV, Rai (Italy) and Arte (France, Germany).
