  • James Reade Venable was born in Manhattan, New York. Besides acting he is a competition winning and published photographer. He recently played Henry Dorris in the Crime Drama series Hidden Assets. He studied acting at HB Studio, and studies Shakespearean Text Analysis and dialects . He was also a working observer at The Actors Studio. James has acted in four different languages. Notable theatrical performances include Julius Caesar (2014), Much Ado About Nothing (2016) Hamlet (2018) and Henry V (2019)

    He took a hiatus from film in 2003 to focus on Poetry and returned to the cinema when he acted in Pose Down (2007), quickly followed by Pitch Me (2009) and Yes And No (2010). He was the lead in Pitch Me, his first leading role and it was selected for the Long Island Film Festival. In 2011, he appeared on stage in Joe Marshall's "The Gayest Christmas Pageant Ever!".

    He returned to the stage to work again in Civilization at the Bleeker Street Theater 45 Below. His next project was in the role of Frederich Von Weiszacker in David C. Cassidy's play Farm Hall (2014), directed by Gerald Vanheerden.

    In 2014, he starred in musician Mike Higbee's music video "Secret Life"(2014). That year he also was featured in A Dangerous Cure(2014). In 2019 he moved to Belgium to take on the second lead as Archbishop Canterbury and doubling as Duke Orleans for the Brussels Shakespeare Society. James continued to work in Television and Film in Europe including parts in the Belgian Series Een Goed Jaer (2020) and Leo Carax's Anette (2020). He also debuted as a director with the video Doormat Daddy by The allegations.
