Eric (Pichapob Ratchaprom) is a Thai actor born and raised in southern Thailand. The youngest of three brothers, he grew up in a family where no one spoke English, yet developed fluency in English through self-study despite never attending an international school or studying abroad.
As a child, Eric often watched movies and stared at billboards, imagining what it would be like to be the person on the screen instead of the one looking up at it. For many years, however, acting felt like something far beyond his reach. After moving to Bangkok to attend university, he eventually left his studies and spent several years searching for a career that felt meaningful. He later found success in real estate before discovering a path into the film industry as a production assistant and production coordinator on international productions.
Working behind the camera gave Eric his first close look at the filmmaking process and, more importantly, made him realize that becoming an actor was not an impossible dream. Determined to pursue acting, he left production work and began applying for casting opportunities across Thailand. For more than a year, he consistently submitted applications with little success, receiving no opportunities to audition.
Just as he was preparing to return to a conventional full-time career, Eric came across a casting call for an English-language feature film directed by acclaimed Japanese filmmaker Shinya Tsukamoto. What began as one final audition before returning to a conventional career became the opportunity that launched his acting career. Despite having no formal acting training or previous professional acting experience, he advanced through multiple rounds of auditions and was ultimately cast in Mr. Nelson, Did You Kill People?, marking his screen debut.
Eric has often described the experience of working on the film as the moment that confirmed he had found where he belonged. From the audition process to performing alongside an international cast and crew on a major feature production, the experience deepened his passion for acting and gave him a profound appreciation for the collaborative nature of filmmaking.
Today, Eric continues to pursue opportunities in both Thai and international film and television while continuing to develop his craft through ongoing training, self-study, and professional experience.
