Amanda Sweikow

Mini bio

  • Amanda Sweikow graduated Magna Cum Laude, with a B.A. in Cinema from San Francisco State University. After graduating she moved to Los Angeles where she began interning for Filmmakers Alliance, a non-profit filmmaking collective. Amanda immediately immersed herself in all aspects of FA, managing the membership, organizing and running workshops/seminars, editing the FA magazine, and helping filmmakers throughout all stages of their productions. She quickly moved up to Vice President and eventually became Executive Director. Amanda then went on to work as a Digital Intermediate Producer at Light Iron Digital, followed by Production Coordinator for HotHouse Productions, and eventually started her own photography business, in order to open up more time for her personal filmmaking work.

She is an award-winning writer/director with films such as, "Plus or Minus: A Few Things I Thought I Should Consider" (Winner Best Women's Short Cleveland International Film Festival), and "THE Cycle" (Ashland Independent Film Festival, Chicago REEL Shorts). She has also produced many films including, "My Last Day On Earth", "Quetzal", and "The Red Hourglass". She most recently completed her second feature script "What Keeps You In", and her newest short film, "That's Not My Mother" (Winner - Best Short Film Ethos International Film Festival).
