Although considered somewhat of a "square", Kane was as young as they were, and was taken under their wing as a friend. He has published a book about his adventure with them, called, "Ticket to Ride", and one about his friendship with John Lennon, "Lennon Revealed". John Lennon once made a surprise visit to anchorman Kane's Philadelphia news broadcast and did an impromptu weather report on the air!
