Stefan Knight

Stef is a makeup artist and hairdresser with over 30 years of experience, working in makeup, prosthetics and hair for fashion, music, film and TV. Stef spent 13 years living in London, working in the fashion industry in Europe and America. During this time they worked on many international fashion and advertising campaigns, as well as editorials for magazines including i-D, Numero, Interview, Italian Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, and Vanity Fair. They were also a part of various teams doing runway shows for The Collections in London, Paris, Milan and New York. Having always had the dream of working in film, Stef decided it made perfect sense to make the move home, as New Zealand has such a thriving and vibrant industry. It felt like a natural progression for Stef to make the move from fashion to film, having a fashion background means they bring a different fresh aesthetic and unique set of skills to this industry. Stef's real passion lies in being part of the creative storytelling process on film. Using a set of visual clues to create authentic and exciting characters, then getting inside the mind of a character to breathe authentic life into them brings particular joy. Collaborating with the other creatives on the team alongside actors to transport the audience to another time and place is the true privilege of the job.
