Biography

Patrick Chapman is an Irish scriptwriter. His award-winning short film, Burning the Bed (2003) was directed by Denis McArdle and starred Gina McKee and Aidan Gillen. He has written a Doctor Who audio play for Big Finish; and 20 episodes for children's TV series: Garth and Bev, Wildernuts, Bubble Bath Bay and Blinky Bill. He produced B7's 2014 adaptation of Ray Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles for BBC Radio 4. This starred Derek Jacobi and Hayley Atwell, and won Silver at the New York Festivals' World's Best Radio Programs in 2015. He was a producer on B7's 2014 adaptation of Sumia Sukkar's novel The Boy from Aleppo Who Painted the War for BBC Radio 4. He wrote an episode for a new series of Dan Dare audio adventures starring Ed Stoppard, Geoffrey McGivern and Heida Reed; as well as drama segments for the Audible docudrama The Space Race, a series narrated by Kate Mulgrew (B7 Media/Boffin, 2019). He is the author of sixteen books, including David Cronenberg: On Screen (SonicBond Publishing, UK, 2021) and Robert Forster's Danger in the Past (Bloomsbury, 33 1/3 Series, 2025).
