J.J. Stokes was born on October 6, 1972 in San Diego, California, USA.

With The San Francisco 49ers, He never finished with more than 63 catches or 770 receiving yards in a season, and that was on a team that had Jerry Rice and Terrell Owens taking siphoning coverage away from him.

J.J. played with The San Franciso 49ers from 1995-2001. In 2002, he played briefly with The Jacksonville Jaguars and caught 13 passes for 116 yards. He was released by Jacksonville on November 14th and was picked up by The New England Patriots where he retired in 2003.

Retired from the NFL after being released by The New England Patriots.
