Biography

Jeff Holder

Mini bio

  • Jeff Holder grew up outside of Atlanta, Georgia and attended the University of Georgia, graduating with a degree in Broadcasting. Moving to Los Angeles after college, Jeff worked on low budget movies doing craft service. A temporary secretary job provided an entree into ABC Children's Programs where his spec script was read, which resulted in his first professional script for "The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo." With Troy Schmidt, Jeff co-wrote multiple episodes of "Dennis the Menace" along with "Heathcliff," "Beverly Hills Teens," and "Bionic 6" and other animated series.

Success in writing for kids programs led to executive jobs in kids media, first as Director of Children's Programs at ABC, then Vice-President of Development at Hanna-Barbera, where Jeff led development of shows which launched the Cartoon Network, including "Dexter's Laboratory," "Power Puff Girls," and "Johnny Bravo." Jeff then went to Sony Wonder, a kid and family division of Sony Music where he was Vice-President of Creative Affairs, which included Executive in Charge of Production credits for award winning direct to DVD Sesame Street titles and prime time specials, including "Elmo-Palooza" and "Elmo Saves Christmas." At Sony Wonder, Jeff created two series, which he story edited, "Wondrous Myths and Legends" and "Angel Wings."

Jeff then moved from the executive office to produce "The GodMan," an international faith based movie now seen by hundreds of million kids around the world. He continued to produce Veggie Tales, "Cartoon Adventures of Larry-Boy" and developed numerous projects for clients.

Jeff has written 3 feature length screenplays for clients, "The Giant Leaf," "Fruity Friends," and the live action family comedy "Best. Christmas. Ever." in 2022, Jeff wrote and produced the educational series, "Star Spangled Adventures."

Jeff teaches grad student in Writing for Kids at Regent University.
