GREGG SIMON, a New York City native, forged his directing career in Los Angeles, initially making his mark in episodic television by directing and producing 2nd Unit for a variety of high-profile pilots and series, including Swamp Thing (Warner Bros.), Hemlock Grove (Netflix), House M.D. (Fox), The Cape (NBC), Past Life (Fox), and K-Ville (Fox).
Simon quickly earned a reputation as a visionary director with a gift for beautiful, cinematic storytelling and ability to craft action with emotional weight and precision. His talent and cinematic approach led him to direct a standout episode in season two of Dominion (Syfy). The episode was praised by producers, Universal, and Syfy for being "...extremely cinematic, well-conceived, and visually distinctive." J. Harvey of Entertainment Weekly said, "Not only was "Bewilderment of Heart" the best episode of Dominion's second season, but it was the best episode of Dominion ever." In recognition of his work, the studio honored Simon's achievement by granting him the resources to create a Special Extended Director's Cut -- the first officially released director's cut of a television episode.
Simon has since directed and produced episodes of All American (WBTV), Rosewood (Fox), and Blood Drive (Syfy), while his indie horror/thriller feature Captive was released as a Tubi Original in the U.S., and on Amazon Prime in the U.K.
Currently, Simon is preparing his next feature, the upcoming indie neo-noir crime thriller The Patience of Vultures. The film is being produced by Mandalay Pictures and All Trades Content, with WME Independent and XYZ Films co-handling sales. Filming is scheduled to begin in Spring 2026.
