- Willem van Kooten was born on January 7, 1941 in Hilversum, Noord-Holland, Netherlands. He is known for Water: The Drop of Life (2000), Moef Ga-Ga (1965) and Eén van de acht (1969). He died on January 3, 2025.
- He also dealt with real estate, was involved in the founding of the political party Leefbaar Nederland and started the channel Arrow Classic Rock.
- Van Kooten once started at Radio Veronica, first as a lyricist. Later he became a DJ under his pseudonym "Joost den Draaijer" and program leader.
