Biography

Ryan Yaver Jafri was born in New York and has lived and studied there ever since. From childhood, he's had a passion for cinema. In his teenage years, he would analyze components of scenes, including dialogue, blocking, mise en scene, and more. Sometimes, he would go a step further and think about how he could apply his emerging style to what he just watched. Around the time he graduated from high school, Ryan decided to pursue an education in filmmaking.

During his studies at the New York Film Academy, SUNY Oneonta, and Fordham University, Ryan focused on writing, directing, and behavioral science. Soon after, Ryan co-wrote and directed his second short film, "The Call." It was screened at various film festivals worldwide, received several accolades, and won multiple awards.

Ryan is a filmmaker whose work includes thought-provoking pieces designed to give viewers insight into the possible consequences of real-world situations. But whether he's writing or directing, Ryan aims to surprise audiences while remaining true to the story.
