Johannes Pääsuke was born on 30 March 1892 in Dorpat, Governorate of Livonia, Russian Empire [now Tartu, Estonia]. He was a director and cinematographer, known for Journey Through Setomaa (1913), Karujaht Pärnumaal (1914) and Utotskini lendamised Tartu kohal (1912). He died on 8 January 1918 in Orsha, Mogilev Governorate, Russia [now Belarus].
