- Glenn Sarty was born on September 9, 1929 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Glenn was a producer and director, known for Telescope (1963), The Sound of August (1971) and Gzowski & Co. (1985). Glenn died on February 6, 2007 in Hyannis, Massachusetts, USA.
- He grew up on Cape Breton Island, and saw every new movie that came to the island. He got his start on the CBC as a musician; he played piano and his dance band played on CBC radio. He eventually worked on producing variety shows during the 1950s. He worked his way up to director and executive producer of CBC TV programs. He left the CBC in the 1980s, and worked for a time with PBS (USA).
