Jessy Sherif is a Los Angeles-based cinematographer and camera department professional known for emotionally resonant, visually grounded storytelling. With a background in narrative, commercial, and branded content, her work emphasizes subtlety, atmosphere, and character-driven visuals that create an early emotional connection with audiences.
Sherif received her Master of Fine Arts in Cinematography from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, San Diego. During her graduate studies, she developed a distinctive visual approach rooted in naturalistic lighting, textured imagery, and collaborative storytelling.
She has served as Director of Photography on narrative shorts, commercials, and feature projects, including The Golden Bird, a surrealist mythology-infused feature set in rural India. In addition to her work as a cinematographer, Ibrahim is an experienced member of the camera department, contributing as an AC, loader, and camera team collaborator across a range of productions. This dual perspective informs her technical precision, on-set efficiency, and strong communication with crew.
