Biography

Gerda Taro was born on August 1, 1910 in Stuttgart, Germany. She was a cinematographer, known for The March of Time, Vol. 3, No. 13 (1937). She died on July 26, 1937 in El Escorial, Spain.

She was the partner of Robert Capa (André Friedmann).

She was the first female war photographer to die on the job.
