Arunim Das Purkayastha

Arunim Das Purkayastha is an Indian filmmaker, composer, and performing artist whose work explores the intersection of cinematic storytelling and music-driven narrative. Trained in Film, Television Production, and Electronic Media, he approaches filmmaking as a synthesis of image, sound, rhythm, and emotion. His creative practice spans award-winning films, music videos, and audio-visual narratives, where he has contributed across direction, editing, sound design, music composition, and post-production. With a strong foundation in film language and sonic storytelling, Arunim’s work often emphasizes mood, texture, and emotional continuity over formality. A Western Classical violinist trained under the Royal School of Music, London, and a multi-instrumentalist, music remains central to his creative identity. His compositions and soundscapes have been used across films, branded content, and multimedia projects for leading institutions and production houses. Alongside his screen work, Arunim has an active presence as a live performer, with over 100 performances, concerts, and curated shows to his credit.
