Biography

Raven Dunn was born in Nashville,TN. She started out doing professional and community theater until she got a small role in Buddy Jewels "Sweet Southern Comfort" music video. At age 11, she got a supporting role in the independent film "Dear Mr. Cash", directed by Wendy Cooper-Porcelli. Raven had to be home schooled in order to film the movie and the film ended up receiving the Gold Kahuna Award for achievement in film making. Raven was accepted into Nashville School of the arts for theater arts and vocal music. That same year, She started playing guitar and showcasing her songs. Here she was discovered by directer Brent Stewart and Harmony Korine. After spotting her in the hallway, she went through several auditions to get one of the leading roles in the short film "The Dirty Ones". The film starred producer Harmony Korine's wife, Rachel Korine and Raven Dunn as two Mennonite sisters. The film had mixed reviews and was accepted in the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. In 2009 Raven wrote her own short film titled "No Need to Cry" which had a low budget and only four crew members. It was entered in the Nashville Film Festival under the Young Filmmakers(Under 18)category, but was not accepted. She went on to star in two more student shorts and a few commercials, including Liberty Mutual Insurance. After graduating high school a year early, Raven moved to Los Angeles to pursue songwriting with her band. She has since moved back to Nashville and continues to work on local productions including theater.
