Biography

Beverly Blossom was born on August 28, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She was married to Roberts Blossom. She died on November 1, 2014 in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

Ex-wife of character actor Roberts Blossom.

She was a leading modern dancer in the 1950s and 1960s. She became a master teacher at the University of Illinois and a celebrated choreographer.

She studied with influential choreographer Alwin Nikolais, and toured the world with his dance company.

As a child growing up in Chicago, she was entranced by the Olson Rug park at Diversey and Pulaski, which stopped traffic until its closing in the 1960s. The installation was like a museum diorama come to life, with statues of Native Americans, deer, tepees, and a real waterfall.

In 1957, she earned a Fulbright and studied with Mary Wigman in West Berlin.
