Biography

Nokie Edwards was born on May 9, 1935 in Lahoma, Oklahoma, USA. He was married to Judy Bean, Zelda Wade and Jean Bauers. He died on March 12, 2018 in Yuma, Arizona, USA.

Member of The Ventures.

He was an original member of the Ventures, playing bass guitar. By 1962, he had traded places with Bob Bogle to become the group's lead guitarist until leaving in 1968. He pursued a career in country music in Nashville, then rejoined the group in 1973.

He was born into a family of migrant fruit pickers who eventually moved to Washington state in a horse-drawn wagon. He had 12 siblings, and many family members were musicians.
