  • Hungary-born Martin had been trained as an acrobat as a youth. He started the knife-throwing act with his wife, Elizabeth, who worked with him for 30 years. In the last years of his life, his daughter joined him in the act.
  • Martin Collins died on the night of 27-28 September 1967 at the age of 52 in an Ottawa hospital, Illinois, of injuries. On 27 September, he was driving, with his wife and daughter as passengers, en route to a theater engagement to Davenport, Iowa. He lost control of his car and it overturned, his wife and daughter received minor injuries.
