Biography

Anne married Wing Commander Robert 'Robbie' Gilvary in the 60's and moved to Germany after the Barry Sisters split up as a group.

Originally known as the Bagelman Sisters, Minnie and Clara were born in the Bronx, New York. Minnie in 1923, died in 1976. Clara born in 1925 still performs. In the 1940s they became The Barry Sisters, Myrna and Claire.

Anne died age 33 on 24th December 1983 in Germany after a fall. She was brought back to be buried in Newcastle.

Claire Barry died on 25 November 2014 in Aventura, Florida.

The sisters June, Angela and Anne, who were well known in the 50's along with their brother Barry Hawley originally came from Langley Road,Walker, Newcastle upon Tyne.
