Biography

Award winning and Emmy Nominated filmmaker Natalie Johns was born in Zimbabwe, grew up in South Africa and established her career in London where she specialized in live entertainment television and documentary film. John's film "I Am Thalente" won the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Los Angeles Film Festival 2015 and is currently distributed and sold worldwide. In 2015 she received an Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Directing for her PBS Television special with Annie Lennox. Johns directed and produced large scale international campaigns for Amnesty International including "Electric Burma", a film for television honoring Aung San Suu Kyi with Bono and "Bring Human Rights Home" coinciding with Pussy Riot's release from Russian prison and US visit featuring Lauren Hill, Madonna and more. Commercial clients have included iTunes, Rock the Vote, Nike,Spotify, Peace One Day and socially disruptive campaigns with The Yes Men. In 2014, Johns worked with Pulse Evolution to create a live hologram of Michael Jackson's performance which aired on live television. Additional accolades include a Billboard Women in Music nomination, Gold - Digital Impact Awards for "Music for RAIN", a collaboration with musicians Chris Taylor and Solange Knowles for Coca Cola's Replenish Africa Initiative. The YouTube's "The Switch", directed by Johns was nominated for an "O Award". Natalie resides in Los Angeles.
