Biography

Georg Victor Mendel was born on December 5, 1881 in Berlin, Germany. He was a director and writer, known for Weißes Gold (1918), Das Geheimnis der alten Mamsell (1917) and Die Frau mit den Karfunkelsteinen (1917). He died on May 26, 1942 in Berlin, Germany.

The director Georg Victor Mendel passed an apprenticeship at the book trade, later he widened his knowledge with a study of natural sciences and medicin. In this function he travelled to different countries in order to realised academically movies.

Because of the first cinematical experiences he decided to enter the film business.

Besides his work as a director and screenwriter Georg Victor Mandel was also active as a cinematographer.
