Biography

Artistic director of Théâtre de la LNI (in the Canadian province of Quebec) since 2008, François-Étienne Paré has also been an improviser there since 1999, when he officially joined a "Charade Cup Season" team. Three-time world champion, winner of five Charade Cups and recipient of the Antidote Cup for the best use of the French language in 2017, he held the title of the player with the most individual trophies until 2019. With a master's degree in theater, he has been putting this expertise to good use in recent years with the creation of the show "La LNI s'attaque aux classiques". In his role as artistic director, he has developed other innovative concepts of spontaneous theater within the Théâtre de la LNI, such as "La LNI s'attaque au cinéma", "La LNI tue la une - actualités improvisées" and "L'Usine de théâtre potentiel", a large-scale project due for creation in the 2019-2020 season. In 2001, he received a Gémeaux award for his work at RDI Junior. He has also hosted the "Grands Duels de la LNI", the "National d'impro 2017" and the shows "La revanche des nerdz", "Diabolo Menthe" and "À faire en Italie". His TV credits include "District 31", "Il était une fois dans l'trouble", "Histoires de filles", "Minuit le soir", "Un monde à part" and "Le monde de Charlotte".
