Freddy Garcia was born on October 6, 1976 in Caracas, Venezuela. He has been married to Glyndis Sanchez since December 2004. They have one child.

Was the American League's pitcher of record when the 2002 All-Star Game ended in a tie.

In 2007, he was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies who agreed to pick his 10 million dollar/year salary. However, due to injury he only won one game and was not resigned after the season. His only win is infamously referred to by Phillies fans as the "ten million dollar win.".
