- Dean Denton was born in Dermott, Arkansas, and raised in McGehee and Conway. He attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1981, where, during his freshman year, he auditioned for and was cast in a minor role in the TV miniseries The Blue and the Gray, filmed on campus and throughout Northwest Arkansas. While working on the production, Dean met Stacy Keach, who encouraged him to pursue a professional acting career in Los Angeles or New York.
Before relocating to LA, Dean honed his craft in Dallas, studying under Adam Roarke and Lou Diamond Phillips at the Film Actors Lab. After several years of building experience through film and television projects in Texas, he moved to Los Angeles in 1989. Within his first week, he booked a role on Days of Our Lives, which led to larger projects and professional representation.
Dean has since worked on over 60 film and television projects and has worked with A-list actors including Kevin Costner, Tom Cruise, Woody Harrelson, Glen Powell, and Jennifer Lawrence. His career reflects versatility, dedication, and a commitment to storytelling across a variety of roles.
