Controversy broke out in 1985 when Johnny Bakshi ran a full add in the screen newspaper saying Jackie Shroff was starring in the film "Bahadur" directed by Raj Sippy. Brando Bakshi was also in the cast. Jackie denied ever agreeing to do the film. But Sippy and Bakshi kept insisting Jackie Shroff agreed but later backed out once Shiva Ka Insaaf flopped.
