Biography

Nick Foster is a multiple BAFTA-winning composer of music for television, film and games, originally from Liverpool, and now based at AIR Studios, London.

Recent commissions include Alexandra Lacey's feature The Twister: Caught In The Storm for Netflix, John Dower's The Man Who Definitely Didn't Steal Hollywood (Wonderhood / BBC) and The Balloonists (Rise Films / Anonymous Content), which recently premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Notable recent TV work includes Lover Stalker Killer for Netflix / Curious Films, Kayleigh Llewellyn's coming-of-age story In My Skin (Expectation / BBC), which won Best Drama at both the BAFTAs and the RTS Awards, and Sally Wainwright's Disney+ adventure drama Renegade Nell.

Other documentary work includes Devil's Advocate (Wonderhood / Sky Documentaries), All Or Nothing: Arsenal (72 Films / Amazon Prime), and Shakespeare : Rise Of A Genius (72 Films / BBC). Scripted comedy work includes The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin for Apple TV / Big Talk and Year Of The Rabbit (IFC/Channel 4), directed by Ben Taylor.

He is also known for his work on the long-running animated series Thunderbirds Are Go, on which Nick collaborated with brother Ben Foster, and for which they were BAFTA, MAS and BAA nominated.

In film, Nick scored Sam Hobkinson's feature documentary Misha And The Wolves, which premiered at Sundance, and scored and arranged songs for Coky Giedroyc's 2023 movie musical Greatest Days, based on the iconic songs of Take That, with Oli Julian. His music also features in Ryan Gosling's Blue Valentine.

Nick works in video games, scoring Sackboy: A Big Adventure, which received a BAFTA Games Awards nomination for Best Music. His many credits in advertising include work with directors including Jonathan Glazer, Henry Alex Rubin, Kim Gehrig, Billy Boyd Cape and Nick Gordon.

His work has been recognised with awards including two BAFTAs for his work on Derren Brown : Apocalypse and The Cube, three D&AD pencils, two British Arrows, a Clio, several Kinsale Sharks, and two MAS awards, including the 2024 award for Best Original Composition in a TV Programme, for Renegade Nell.
