Moges Ababu Belachew is an award-winning Ethiopian filmmaker, having won more than 10 international awards and received recognition at film festivals worldwide. He holds an MFA in Film Production from Addis Ababa University and is the writer and director of the acclaimed film Mother Country. The film has earned awards and official recognition at several prestigious international festivals, including the Indie Short Fest in Los Angeles, the World Film Festival Cannes, the CUT International Short Film Festival, the African SDGs Film Festival, the Bournemouth International Film Festival, and the MYTH Social Impact Film Festival.
A versatile creative professional, Moges works as a film instructor, screenwriter, cinematographer, and director across feature films, documentaries, music videos, and commercials. Passionate about visual storytelling, he is committed to both creative practice and film education, contributing to the growth of Ethiopian cinema while inspiring the next generation of filmmakers through his teaching and professional work.
