- Ken McCoy grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. A theatrical actor and director since 1978, he earned degrees in Theatre from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (BA 1982), Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (MFA 1984), and Bowling Green State University (PhD 1994). Since 1994 he has been a Theatre Arts faculty member at Stetson University, a small liberal arts university in central Florida, where he teaches (mainly) acting, stage directing, and voice/dialects. Fluent in Spanish, his research interest is in Latin American Theatre. When time permits, he acts in independent films, and does extra work in the occasional feature film that shoots in central Florida. He is also the author of the longest-running annotated theatre guide on the internet: "A Brief Guide to Internet Resources in Theatre and Performance Studies."
