- J.D. Estévez is a Colombian screenwriter, director and editor. Back in his home country, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Communication and Media from Universidad de la Sabana, where he directed the sci-fi horror Memorias Perpetuas (2023) and the period drama Ascensión (2025), kickstarting his career in the industry. His passion for filmmaking earned him a scholarship in the Film Production program at the Vancouver Film School, where he wrote and directed the high-concept drama Beginnings, and edited Look Up (2026) and The Man with the Umbrella. Estévez has also shown interest in cinematography, directing the photography for Vow and Waver (2026) and Wasting Time (2026). He now focuses on small, independent short films, and establishing The Mereon Collective, an indie production company in development.
