John H. Rogers III is an Emmy-nominated producer and award-winning filmmaker based in Chicago. He began his formal education in film during his junior year of high school, later advancing his studies at Columbia College Chicago. There, he honed his craft and deepened his passion for storytelling, with a focus on screenwriting.
After Columbia, John continued developing his writing skills at the Screenwriter's Group in Chicago under the mentorship of acclaimed instructor Dan Decker. He soon made his directorial debut with La Petite Morte, marking the start of a multifaceted career in filmmaking.
Over the past two decades, John has written numerous screenplays spanning a wide range of genres, including action, horror, thriller, and drama. In 2014, he received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Documentary Programs for his award-winning documentary Mound Bayou: Jewel of the Delta.
John is the founder of The Saxon Parlor, a Chicago-based production company through which he continues to produce bold, story-driven work.
