Mitch Jacobson is a producer/director/editor and engineer with 40 years experience in broadcast television, live-streaming and agency/corporate production. He is the owner of Category Five Studios, a boutique editing and DaVinci color suite in New York City and Palm Beach Florida. Mitch is an approved Netflix Content and Delivery Partner.
His credits include feature length documentary concert films for superstar artists like The Rolling Stones, U2, Aerosmith and Paul McCartney. He has also directed global live stream events for the Paris 2025 Olympics and Cannes Film Festival. His contributions have garnered two Primetime Emmy® nominations for best music/variety programs.
Mitch is a member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild (MPEG 700) New York/Hollywood, and IBEW 1212 Broadcast Engineers Union. Mitch Jacobson is also an educator, mentor and published author of the textbook Mastering Multi-Camera Techniques: From Pre-Production to Editing and Deliverables (Focal Press). He is a former Adjunct Professor at SVA- School of Visual Arts in Manhattan and an authorized trainer for Blackmagic and Vizrt/NewTek. His hobbies include guitar, photography and volunteering for Furry Friends Humane Society.
