Rob began his TV work in a local TV station in Oxford, UK, as both host and video journalist for a weekly arts and entertainment show, Cultural Camera.
He later embarked on a full-time career in TV Production working for some of the UK's most successful independent production companies. As a Producer/Director he accrued credits on top shows such as 'Strictly Come Dancing', 'Fame Academy', and 'Model Behavior'.
In 2005 Rob directed and produced a one hour special for Paramount 'Best of the Fest', featuring some of the UK's top comedic talent and rising stars including Russell Brand and Alan Carr.
In 2006 Rob shot, directed and formatted the highly successful factual ent pilot 'Wedding SOS' for Cineflix, which is in its 14th season in Canada.
In 2005 Rob created and series produced the popular Entertainment show 'Trapped' for CBBC. This show successfully ran for four seasons in both UK and Australia, winning the Children's BAFTA AWARD for Best Entertainment in 2011.
In 2009 Rob was asked to create another fantasy world, in the guise of a formatted game show for the BBC. The show was to complement the British Museum's 'History of the World through 100 Objects' on BBC Radio 4. Filmed over many dark winter nights at The British Museum, London and the famous Elstree Studios, Rob and his team created a truly unique series that brought to life the stories behind some of the worlds most incredible and historically significant treasures. 'Relic: Guardians of the Museum' used awe-inspiring CGI, a dead museum guide called Agatha and her arch enemy 'The Dark Lord' (voiced by Rob himself) 'Relic' won the BAFTA for Best Entertainment in 2010.
'The Ministry of Curious Stuff' was a comedy sketch show that explored and celebrated the weird and wonderful world around us. Early in 2011 Rob began working with the star of the show and Godfather of Surrealist Comedy, Vic Reeves.
He studied Vic Reeves work and set about creating a World that complimented Vic's comedy, creating characters, sketches and sets that brought the peculiar facts to life. Vic's hand-drawn animations, directed and voiced by Rob, were peppered throughout the series.
The Ministry of Curious Stuff was re-commissioned for a second time and nominated for four Royal Television Society Awards for Best Comedy, Best Production, Best Special Effects and Graphics and Best Design.
'Ludus' was based on an existing welsh speaking game show 'Y'LIFT'. Rob was hired as a creative consultant to redevelop the show, creating characters and a world for this ambitious commission. CBBC was looking for a series of half-hour game shows with a game App that would allow viewers to play along on their smartphones and tablets. The show was created and formatted with a vintage sci-fi feel and hosted by a hilariously incapable villain called 'Ludus'. The show was commissioned for two series back to back and Rob joined the team as an Exec, overseeing Production and leading the design on both the show and the 24 games created for the App.
Only in its 4th week, the Ludus App has made it into the Top 40 Apps worldwide and the TV show is a hit, having been declared 'Critics Choice' in several major blogs and publications.
Ludus won a Welsh BAFTA for Best Game, a BROADCAST DIGITAL AWARD for Best Children's and BAFTA NOMINATED for Best Interactive in 2014.
