A director of sports medicine for the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), first at the original training Center in Olympic (Squaw) Valley, California, and from 1978 (to his retirement in 2000) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was the head athletic trainer for numerous Summer and Winter Olympic Games, and Pan American Games. Beeten pioneered many aspects of sports medicine for athletes in United States.
