Charlie Wilson was born on January 29, 1953 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. He is an actor and composer, known for Boss Level (2020), Ghosted (2023) and Boomerang (1992). He is married to Mahin.

Lead singer of The Gap Band, which also featured his older brother Ronnie Wilson and younger brother Robert Wilson.

National spokesperson of the Prostate Cancer Foundation, where there is a Creativity Award in his name. The organization donates hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to cancer research across the United States.

He was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording at 6201 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California on January 29, 2024. Singer-songwriter Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds and rapper Snoop Dogg were guest speakers at the ceremony.
