Biography

Markus M. van Zyl is a US based South African writer, producer, and podcast creator. He is the founder of Gothic F.M., a horror audio drama that blends investigative storytelling with myth, history, and the supernatural. His work explores trauma, folklore, and gothic themes through immersive audio narratives.

In addition to producing Gothic F.M., van Zyl gained professional experience as an editing intern at Cinema Sounds and Secrets Podcast, sharpening his skills in sound design and editing. He holds a B.A. in Law from the University of Pretoria and studied Film at DePaul University in Chicago, further expanding his expertise in screenwriting and visual storytelling.

Van Zyl continues to develop Gothic F.M. while pursuing a career at the intersection of film and podcast.
