Jamal Kamali was born on January 18, 1986, in Bandar Anzali, Gilan Province, Iran. He began his career in cinema in 2015, working in various fields including production design and acting. He later turned to writing and directing, creating several short films as well as a feature film. He is married to Yasaman Moraati, an Iranian actress, and they have one son.
