Tom Mitford was born on January 2, 1909 in Batsford, Gloucestershire, England, UK. He died on March 30, 1945 in Sagaing, Burma.

Brother of Diana Mosley, Jessica Mitford, Nancy Mitford, Unity Mitford, and Deborah Cavendish.

A Major in the British Army. Shot in the neck while leading a force from the 1st Battalion Devonshire and Dorset Regiment against a group of Japanese occupying a wooded rise outside of Sagaing, Burma. Moved to a field hospital in Sagaing, the wound left him paralyzed, and he died three days later of pneumonia.

Second cousin of Rupert Mitford, and Clementine Churchill. Brother-in-law of Oswald Mosley.
