Kirill Pletnev was born December 30th 1979 in Kharkov. He spent his
early years in Leningrad where his family moved shortly after he was
born; there he went first to primary and then â" to secondary school. In
the year of 1996 he entered SPGATI (St Petersburg State Academy of
Theatrical Arts) to become a student of Vladimir Petrov's course. Upon
graduation in the year 2000 he had occasionally worked in a number of
Moscow theaters. Later on Kirill joined in the company of Moscow Drama
Theatre headed by Armen Dzhigarkhanyan and moved to the Russian
capital. In the spring of 2003 he left the theatre and started to
collaborate with stage director Irina Kerutchenko. Since 2001 Kirill
has been filming a lot.
