Sam has a passion for Shakespeare and in addition to his acting career, is a Globe Education Practitioner at Shakespeare's Globe, on London's Southbank. Sam is also a poker and boxing fanatic. He can often be found at the poker tables or at a boxing event.

- Sam's performing career started as a result of a lost bet. At the age of twelve, he and two other friends had to perform a song at the school cabaret night as a result of the loss. It just so happened, it went quite well.
- Sam is a dedicated poker player. In 2009 he finished third in the prestigious GUKPT London Main Event, beating out over 400 players over four days. He had only learned to play poker six months prior. It was his first tournament. In 2020 he finished third in one of the prestigious WCOOP Main Events beating out over 36,000 players over four days. He has since won several online tournaments and had many cashes and high finishes in a range of tours and tournaments live and online.
- In Summer Season 2021, Sam became the first male actor to play 'Juliet' on The Globe stage since it's opening in 1997, after being called in for two shows.
