Matthew Hiltzik is the Founder and CEO of Hiltzik Strategies and a trusted advisor for leaders in sports, entertainment, media, tech, education, finance, energy, and other industries. Matthew is an attorney and communications strategist who is widely recognized for guiding athletes, ownership groups, teams, conferences, and entertainment talent through high-profile opportunities and sensitive challenges, providing counsel that combines discretion, precision, and long-term perspective.

After beginning his career in politics, Matthew served in senior communications roles at Miramax Films and Freud Communications, where he led the firm’s U.S. launch. Matthew founded Hiltzik Strategies in 2008, drawing on decades of experience and relationships across industries, he has built a practice known for its ability to navigate scrutiny, shape complex stories, and protect reputations through fact-based, strategic communications, crisis management, and litigation support.

Matthew is a storyteller who fosters connection and shared purpose. He has produced acclaimed documentaries, including Emmy-nominated Paper Clips, Documented, and Holy Land Hardball, and serves on the boards of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award USA, the Ghetto Film School, and Montclair State University’s School of Communication and Media.
