Mini bio

  • While working steadily in Hollywood these last few years, John Senese has managed to stay mostly under the radar. Those days are most likely numbered. John was born in Marlton, NJ and grew up playing in a Joy Division cover band and obsessing over the films of Stanley Kubrick. His trajectory was forever altered when he took an acting class at Rutgers University during his senior year while completing his Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. Upon witnessing the 9/11 attacks in New York City firsthand, he vowed to never again take another day for granted. He gave up his nascent engineering career to instead pursue acting full time. John dove into a period of intensive training with his teacher Steve Perlmutter (a former student of Sanford Meisner) followed by years at the Stella Adler school in NYC. John built the foundation of his acting career on solid training and years of work in many student films, theater, web series and voiceovers before moving to Los Angeles to pursue the work at the highest level. Along the way, John has also made a name for himself as a sought-after mixologist bartender creating bar programs for and working with famous restaurateurs such as Sean MacPherson (Bowery Hotel, Jones Hollywood), Mario Batali, Danny Meyer, and Soho House. Once settled in LA, John's talents became obvious and he quickly found representation, earning his SAG card and performing in a multitude of national commercials and television shows such as Rizzoli and Isles, Hot in Cleveland and American Horror Story. John has worked with such iconic directors as Tom Ford (Nocturnal Animals) and Ryan Murphy (Glee, American Horror Story). He has traveled the world extensively (33 countries and counting) contributing to life experiences that make John an extremely versatile actor; As intelligent and mysterious as he is compassionate and relatable; Equally adept at playing the leading man as he is supporting an ensemble. He maintains his training at the legendary Beverly Hills Playhouse with Allen Barton and Howie Deutch.
