Venla Hellstedt

Venla Hellstedt studied literature and film in London and gained an MSc in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She has worked in several documentary, drama and news productions for BBC, ITV, Discovery Channel and YLE. Hellstedt returned to work in her native Helsinki in 2009, after nearly 14 years in the UK, and has since produced many award- winning Finnish films and international co- productions. She became a partner at Tuffi Films in the Autumn 2016, where she completed four feature films, five theatrical documentaries, two seasons of TV comedy and three international minority co-productions as a Producer. She started a new position as a Producer in fiction and documentaries in Dionysos Films in January 2024. She has her own company Ponifilmi, that she owns together with the Director and Writer Selma VIlhunen.
